I could sit here and go over all the rest of these supposed miracles, and explain to you why these things are physically impossible and why there's no valid reason to believe in them, but what would be the point? If you haven't gotten the message by now, then you probably aren't going to. So instead of going into all that I want to talk about the two most insane aspects of the New Testament. Not because I think they'll sway anyone that hasn't already been swayed, but because they truly highlight the level of insanity one must acquiesce to even when leaving all the Old Testament nonsense behind.
The first bit of insanity I want to talk about is the apostle Paul. Now, the thing which makes Paul himself the architect of insanity is the fact that 13 of 27 books in the New Testament are attributed to him. This number is greater than any other supposed biblical author, although we must keep in mind that even these books of the bible attributed to the apostle Paul are not first-hand accounts. They are copies of copies written mostly from an oral record. The thing which makes this insane is not the amount of content attributed to this man but rather, the fact that he never actually met Jesus as a living man. Paul's only claim to knowledge of Jesus was through a supposed meeting between Paul and the ghost of Jesus. In fact, before this meeting Paul was actually known as Saul of Tarsus and supposedly actively participated in the persecution of the early cult following of Jesus and its followers.
Yet, for all intents and purposes, this man Paul almost singlehandedly builds the Christian faith and the early Christian church. The codes of conduct governing Christianity all come from the Pauline letters to the churches at Corinth, Ephesus, Rome, and to the Colossians. So this man, who by his own supposed admission never even met Jesus, supposedly authors nearly half of the New Testament, including the prescriptions for daily life as a Christian, and is seen as the ultimate authority of the word of Jesus. Not Peter who supposedly walked side by side with Jesus. Not Thomas or Mark or Luke who supposedly stood side by side with Jesus at the Sermon on the Mount. This man Paul, heretic turned saint, is seen as the authoritative word on all things Jesus.
What makes this even worse is that Paul often seems to contradict not only the other apostles, but even Jesus himself. It is Paul who poses the pro-Roman atmosphere of the New Testament and this sort of underlying anti-Semitic feel of that half of the bible. It is Paul's embrace of apocalypticism that leads to the heavy weight given to matters such as chastity and sexual purity. It is Paul who reiterates the prescription for death to homosexuals as offered in Leviticus. It is Paul whose misogyny shines through within the New Testament, while Jesus himself could be said
